Hits me in the heart...

There are some days when you just stop and admire what you have created. Sometimes I look at little Miss and I am overwhelmed with emotions. I want to kiss her all over, embrace her so she feels my love and tuck her in at night knowing she is safe and calm.
Here are a few pics of late that melt me to the core….

My Pa's a Fireman....

Every time we visit Sweet Boys family and spend the weekend we become a part of a custom in their family. Pa’s fire Bridge life….. You see, he has been a fireman since 1978 and in a month from now he will hang up his boots for the very last time. It has been such a wonderful career, Pa has gone from a fireman to a Deputy Captain and now he signs off having been the Captain of the fire house for the past 9 years.

It’s a stella career and I’m glad Little Miss has been able to understand what her Pa did for a living… She knows that he has to get dressed up and go and help people, sometimes he has to use the siren and get dirty. She even understands the beeping that happens in the house when Pa is being called out..
36 years on – I can tell you that Pa has seen a lot and I can only imagine the stories he will tell in the years to come to our little girl
Enjoy Life Pa now that you have retired.

Getting Her Cowgirl On...

We decided to head to the local Rodeo last weekend and what fun we had. Miss Liv got to dress up and  I can't believe that I had a cowgirl outfit still in it's packaging, see sweet boy (aka: my husband) - I was meant to shop online for this over 3 years ago, just in case we ever got the chance to go to a Rodeo .......
As usual, we were nearly the first ones there, I always like to arrive on time. By the time the rodeo started the place was full and all of a sudden I felt like a city chick - where was my big white cowgirl hat - I did leave without one, not sure I would have the need for one in my future. Gee - the girls looked mighty fine, I can't believe how much sparkle can come from one cowgirl - The belt, the jean pockets, the trim of their hats, the silver spangled boots - for just one moment I wanted to be them, all kitted out in their getup... It all came crashing down when I realised I would have to mount a horse, I was out, besides, my nose was already running and I had an itchy throat, that's right, I'm not good around animal hair.
Singing our National Anthem - Liv took her hat off and held it to her chest, oh so cute.
Ladies I can't go without saying, there is something about Cowboys in jeans and chaps... I think I spent most of the night looking at the cowboys then the bulls and horses they were riding......
So - back in the day, how much has a Rodeo changed since it started in Australia in the 1880's?? I'd say - not much, maybe head gear has been introduced but it's still a country tradition and the hats are just as big....

Playing on Repeat

She maybe 3 but she has her first crush - Mr Hunter Hayes. The song 'Somebody's Heartbreak' sung word for word... Although she is far too young to understand heartbreak, she sings it as though she has a broken heart, the pain in her little animated face makes us smile from the inside out... It's beautiful to watch. Oh - that's right, again and again and again, lucky we like his music.

Places we love to chill...

She maybe 3 but she is our little powerhouse.... I thought I would first share her fav place to chill and read to all her fluffy friends - her bedroom...

It started as her nursery, we have now moved to stage 2, a little girl’s bedroom... It has to be my favourite room of the house, I guess it is the one room in our house that is filled with such fond memories, and a lot of firsts, from all those late nights feeding her on my rocking chair, to nights when she was sick and I would stroke her forehead and whisper shush in her sweet little ear, dancing on her bed and now every night we do family cuddles or as Miss Liv likes to say "Flamily Cuddles" it’s a beautiful space for her and for us. I sometimes just love to sit and reflect in her room.

What would it have been like back in the day???? A little less bright, a little less warm and certainly not a place where a little girl could jump around on her bed.........However, bedrooms in the Victorian time were considered a place of sanctuary, so maybe things haven't changed that much after all.
